About us
Organic Hydroponics is a health and wellness business aimed to counteract social injustices. Two of the social injustices we are currently tackling is redlining and creating more solutions towards sustainability in a climate changing world. Redlining is a discriminatory practice in which services are denied to neighborhoods with high numbers of racial and ethnic minorities and low income residents. As a result of redlining, food deserts exist. A food desert is an urban area in which it is difficult to buy affordable or good quality fresh produce.
Organic Hydroponics is the new connecting bridge for people troubled by food deserts to have access to high quality nutrient dense foods. We produce affordable, organic and hydroponic produce. The produce entails fruits, vegetables, flowers, and herbs. Having access to organic produce is essential because ingesting pesticide produce is harmful to your immune system, nervous system, and endocrine system. There are countless studies of pesticides being linked to cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, ADHD, and birth defects. Organic Hydroponics as a business does not want you to take those risks while choosing a health conscious diet. We want more access for you to gain health and wealth. When you buy Organic Hydroponic produce you are in support of reducing pollution by protecting the Earth’s water and soil. Furthermore when you buy pesticide/preservative ridden produce it tends to be from another state and travels by truck and then unloaded from the truck into the stock room and then sits on shelves for a while. Throughout the whole process the nutrients are depleted and diminishing however it looks fresh.
Through art and community we vow to never waste inventory. If we just so happen to have leftover produce we make a promise to donate to the homeless directly. Oftentimes other grocery stores and restaurants throw out and dispose of leftover food. To Organic Hydroponic, that is very wasteful. Any leftover produce will be helpful to tackling world hunger. In attempt we will create artistic flyers of plant giveaway opportunities and create events centered on giving back. As a business we care about adding health and wealth to the community and culture. Organic Hydroponics is inspired by ancient civilizations. Egyptian hieroglyphic records show attempts to grow plants in a soil-less environment. Babylonians or Mesopotamians were growing plants in hydroponic gardens and called it the ‘Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
We will help feed and restore the community and economy through learning opportunities and charitable acts. The best way to change the world is starting within. In order to tackle toxic struggles we must create healthy solutions for our mind, body, and souls to protect. SImilar to being on an airplane and the rules are to put on your air mask first because you cant help someone else if you pass out. So take care of yourself first in order to really help the next person.
